Romania pulled up an excellent performance against France in the opening game, despite losing. They will now look to pick up three points in the next fixture to stay in the competition. Switzerland has won eight of their last nine games and has kept a clean sheet in their last three Euro Cup fixtures. However, they did not play exceptionally against Albania and revealed a shaky team. They will secure a place in the last sixteen if they manage to win this fixture. Both teams will need a victory in this game but at the same time both will have a cautious backline for the game. The winner or loser may be decided by one mistake. Romania will use their speed and rely on counter attacks, while Switzerland will look to score on the break.

Romania almost has a full squad and most players are available for the fixture. Razvan Rat, however, is doubtful for the match with an injury. Switzerland also has not many players missing for the match, with most of the squad from the previous game expected to participate in the fixture.
