Girona opening weekend was a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid in La Liga. Despite not winning the Girona’s performance was noteworthy, they lead by which seemed like a win of 2-0 but missed several opportunities to score against the toughest defence in Europe. This is a good promise, which certainly counts for the season ahead.
Malaga wasn't so great during Last term. They conceded 1.45 goals per game on average besides losing key midfield players which helped them defend their back line. Opening the season with a home defeat to Eibar was not a good start at all. The team has only achieved only 2 wins of their last 22 visitor league games. The last weekend game did not work in their favor at all, and this might give Girona the confidence to snatch a point
